Individual and adolescent therapy
provides an in depth look at the individual’s life as well as their past. This is done through psychotherapy and biblical principals. The goal is to assist the Client in understanding “who they are” and developing new healthy ways in approaching stressors and the circumstances of life.
Play therapy
is a special process of focusing on a child’s needs while allowing them to express themselves through play. Children are not generally able to verbalize many of the emotions and stressors they may be experiencing in their small lives (anger, fear, sadness). Through play they are able to convey their thoughts and needs in a safe and understanding enviornment. Parents are a vital part of the process and are given parenting assignments and books to read.
Pre-Marital and Marriage Counseling
is provided in the office by appointment. An assessment is conducted (Prepared and Enriched) to discover strengths each partner brings to the marriage and the attributes both desire. Numerous topics are addressed. Spiritual truths are examined and couples are given homework with each session. Books may also be assigned as part of the process.
Marriage Seminars
are conducted at various venues and address the daily aspects of married life. Assessments are used to evaluate where each couple is currently functioning. Topics include; The Biblical View of marriage, Conflict Resolution, Communication, Finances, Family of Origin, Roles and responsibilities, Intimacy and relationships, Leisure activities and Sexual Relationship
Family Therapy
is a solution based focus. It emphasizes family relationships as an important factor in psychological health. Each individual is a part of the situation and communication is essential. The intimate relationships are explored to nurture change and development. Change is viewed in terms of interaction between family members.
